Main Character Syndrome

The kindest thing anyone will ever tell you is that YOU are not the main character. You never were, and I have personally seen people self-obsess to the point of depression. When you self-obsess, you have nothing else to do but think about all your faults and all your wins. You could stand to get out of your head every once in a while.

Long story short, if you believe in the Bible, you should know that you are not the main character and never were.

When you center yourself in your life, something or someone has to be decentered to make room.

For every young woman hoping to grow in their faith, this trend is likely not for them. I instead urge that they pray for the discernment to know when and how they should move.

The daughters of the Most High are more precious than rubies. Proverbs 31:10

Rubies are extremely rare and form deep in the earth under intense pressure and under very specific circumstances.

It really is the ultimate compliment for our Father to compare us to rubies instead of diamonds, considering He knows how He made each. Part of what makes rubies so expensive is that they are difficult to reach since they are hidden so deep in the Earth. I say that to say it is both the hidden nature, rarity, and intense pressure that make the peculiar women of the Most High so valuable.

If such women are so valuable, why wouldn’t there constantly be content, media, situations, etc. not to harm but to distract them away from the Most High, in whom their devotion is paramount?
